After a tearful goodbye to Douggie at the airport and 26hrs sitting on a plane wondering 'what the f*** have I done' I finally made my way to Emma at the hotel in San José Costa Rica at midnight.
Sleeping in until 10am hopefully meant jetlag wouldn't catch up to us. We explored the town of San José, stopping to purchase snacks and were only out for about 1hr! There isn't too much to do in San José so Em and I washed off the plane smell in a lukewarm shower and headed back into the city to buy breakfast for the next day.
Finally there was a group meeting at 5pm where we got to see all 16 members of our tour. 6 boys, 10 girls and our tour guide Ricardo. 6 Aussies in total so we are definitely over represented! 2 Norwegians, 2 Austrians, 2 Canadians, an Irish woman , a Frenchie, a Sweed and of course a token Yank.
We all got acquainted over dinner at the hotel restaurant ($3 for Nachos!) and everyone seems quiet but super nice and up for a bit of fun. We head off tomorrow morning at 7am with half getting to La Fortuna via White Water Rafting and the other half (obviously including me) getting there by Private Bus which will take 3.5hrs so not too bad!
